Right Here For You

Birthday was the only day of my life,
When I felt it’s time for a new beginning.
I plan to make some changes.
I plan to fix my old troubles.
I plan to take a new direction.
And still, I end up being alone on a single’s table,
Sipping my coffee and biting my sub,
Thinking of what went wrong that here I ended up.
As a child, my birthday was like another festival.
I would cut cakes and get gifts,
And wear colorful clothes to the school.
I may play stupid pranks or crack stupid jokes
And people still loved me.
Feeling like a prince for that day.
Even the strict PT sir wouldn’t punish me for the day
Feeling I can be the next day prey.
But slowly my teenage life started,
And I got bigger, my cakes got smaller.
I would meet some school friends and spend some time.
Then go meet my crush or find reasons to meet.
I still loved these new changes around me.
But now I feel something was missing.
I entered my twenties and I felt the change.
Hiding my birthday was my new thing.
My roomies found birthday bumps more fun
While I would nurse for three days my wounded bum.
They would wear heavy shoes just to kick me.
And give me a week full of pain that wouldn’t leave me.
But when my work life started,
Everything landed in the boring land.
My birthday became a regular day
And I missed my friends.
And though I grew up
I should have become more mature…
But I miss that pampering, I am still a kid for sure.
Adios,
