The Toddy House is a restropub located in Koramangala fifth block just above ‘What’s in the Name’. The theme of this restropub is based on the fact that they serve coastal Indian cuisines. The place is resembling a Toddy shop near the paddy fields with outdoor seating. They specialize in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Bengali style cuisine.

The ambiance is quite interesting, open balcony, with simple decor, with some interesting posters that would start a conversation. The tables are placed very well.

The music played here is Blues, Jazz, and modern rock. They do serve Cocktails and Mocktails here. They also host events such as blues nights and Karaoke nights on Saturdays. I had a visit to this place with a friend. (Please don’t ask for the Karaoke review on him.)

Coming to the beverages, I tried
*Davazhakulam Long Strong Iced Tea which is an in-house signature version of LIIT. It was good, the combination is unique and it tastes good.
* Delta Cosmopolitan was quite tangy flavored. The rose water and honey combination gave a refreshing tangy taste that made it good.

Food (SPOILERS ALERT) It was one hell of a treat. I tried so many things starting with the starters:
*Vegetable Chop was fried cutlet of shredded carrot, beans and beetroot with kasundi ( Indian Mustard Sauce) and it was great.
*TeleBhaja Platter; this is a recommended dish if you like fried items. Its crispy fried spinach, mushroom, onion and chili. Quite a treat it was with two types of chutney.
*Cheeseling Jhal Muri; I have tried Jhal Muri with puffed rice but here it’s cheeselings. It’s tangy taste make it an awesome companion for cocktails.

Main Course:
*Appam is a must as it was good. It was great with Kadala curry and vegetable stew.
*Vegetable stew was good. The coconut flavor dominated the taste. I liked it
*Kadala Curry was tasty too and I liked it. Don’t expect this as the normal Bengal Gram curry, because of the twist in the taste that makes it great.

Overall, the service was good, the staff is friendly, and the food was good. I would recommend this place to my friends and also I would visit this place again to grab a bite and have a drink and to hang out with friends.

Verdict:
Ambiance – 4/5
Service – 4.5/5
Food – 4/5
