Yes…I Want That Cheesy Love
The easiest way to procrastinate (as a writer) is to find inspiration and watch short films on YouTube. This led me to a short film on the long-distance relationship.
.
The guy who was feeling bad that the girl doesn’t comment on his posts anymore, doesn’t give love reactions on his pictures and statuses and doesn’t comment heart emoji on his Instagram pictures on her posts and now isn’t picking up her phone. His bestie decides to announce to the world about the news and makes a group declaring he is single again. This is done so the ‘fuddu’ guy gets a compulsion of a social commitment hanging on his head for break up.
.
That, in turn, led me into thinking- is this the only remaining meaning of a relationship now- likes, comments, shares and bell icon…just exactly what the video asked me to do.
.
What happened to the eyes meeting across the room…the one-second extra glance…the hesitation before asking if the hanky dropped was her or not.
.
Now, I don’t believe that when you fall in love, five people with violins just materialize in the room out of nowhere (i know that’s what you think). But a little fluttering butterflies sensation in your stomach isn’t unrealistic. Maybe cheesy…Definitely Cheesy…but not unrealistic.
Falling in love should make the air crispier, sunlight warmer, rain more romantic and life more beautiful. but today it’s just making our FB statuses fancier, selfies more reactible and friends list increasing.
.
Love was meant to be cheesy… love was meant to be more about the other and less about ourselves. That’s why love involved so many hormones because… love was meant to be messier. Not a straight equation of:
.
Like + Comment + Heart Emoji = 92% Love
.
So, if you are one of the people who wants love to be crazy and messy and cheesy, shout out loud – ‘Yes, I want that cheesy love’.
Keep love about love…and not about fancy and decorative FB statuses.

No offenses to the video and it’s makers.
